Daisy Honest and Fair Petal Workbook

For this meeting you will need to choose a book to read to the troop. I recommend one of the books below, as they give a great overview for kindergarten and 1st grade girls about what it means to be honest and fair:
- The Boy Who Cried Wolf by Barbara Hennessey
- The Berenstain Bears and the Truth by Stan and Jan Berenstain
- Pinkalicious and the Pink Drink by Victoria Kann
- In It Together: A Story of Fairness by Kristin Johnson

Read the book you chose about honesty and fairness. Have a brief discussion about what it means to be honest and fair. Have the girls draw a picture of how fairness (or a lack thereof) was shown in the book.

It's important to talk about what happens when we're NOT fair or honest, and how that makes us feel. Talk about it as a group and then have them think about how they feel when they aren't being treated fairly or when someone is dishonest with them.

Practice being fair and honest. Play a game. I provided some tic-tac-toe boards, but you can play any game you want. Duck Duck Goose is a good example. Have the girls take turns and play by the rules. Point out chances to be fair when taking turns.

Next, we commit to being honest and fair every day: at home, at school, and with friends. Have the girls write down how they're going to practice being fair and honest.

This is a coloring page that can be used at the beginning of the meeting as the girls arrive. Or it can be an extra discussion point about how the girl is being honest.
