Brownie Coding Basics Badge Workbook

For this meeting I set up the booklet so that you do not need a computer. However, if you're able, I've added some online resources to supplement the booklet.
One of the best coding resources for kids is Code.org. I recommend introducing the kids to this site, as the fun and engaging lessons will get them hooked on coding!
Pages 1-2: Algorithms
If you want to supplement this with hands-on activities, have the girls go to Code.org and play lessons 1, 2 and 3. These will get the girls familiar with coding with Scratch and understanding algorithms.
Page 4: Simplify Algorithms with Loops
Visit Code.org and complete the first Loops lesson to better understand how loops can simplify your algorithms.
Pages 5 and 6: Events
The Dance Party lesson on Code.org will help girls understand how events can trigger certain actions.
Pages 7-9
If you want to add more information about the Famous Female Computer Scientists, look up short videos about the 4 women I mention in the book. Either watch them beforehand to add more facts about these great women, or play one or more of them for the troop.
