Suggestions for Using this Booklet
For this meeting you will need to choose a book to read to the troop. We recomment one of the below books as they give a great overview for K and 1st Grade girls about what it means to be honest and fair:

The Boy Who Cried Wolf - Barbara Hennessey
The Berenstain Bears and the Truth - Stan and Jan Berenstain

Read the book you chose about Honesty and Fairness. Have a brief discussion about what it means to be honest and fair. Have the girls draw a picture of how fairness or lack there of was represented in the book.
Page 2
It's important to talk about what happens when we're NOT fair or honest. And how does that make us feel. Talk about it as a group and then have them think about how they feel when they aren't being treated fairly or if someone is dishonest with them.

Practice being fair and honest. Play a game - we provided some tic tac toe boards. But you can play any game you want. Duck Duck Goose is a good example. Have the girls take turns, play by the rules. Point out areas of opportunity of being fair with turns.

Next we commit to being honest and fair every day - at home, at school, and with friends. Have the girls write down how they're going to practice being fair and honest.

This is a coloring page that can be used at the beginning of the meeting as the girls file in. Or it can be an additional discussion point about how the girl is being honest.
